More Than Just a Meal: Our Story
Chamber Thirty Six began in 2016 with a simple idea. We wanted to create a space where people could gather, share great food, and enjoy a memorable dining experience rooted in Chinese culinary culture. We first opened on Berry Street, right beside Liverpool’s historic Chinatown. Over time, our vision evolved. What began as a Pan-Asian cocktail bar has become a modern Chinese restaurant focused on vibrant small plates and social dining. This evolution reflects both our passion and the way Liverpool itself has grown around us. Our name is inspired by the teachings of the Shaolin monks and the idea of unity through shared experience. That spirit lives on in every table served and every celebration hosted. Today, we proudly serve as a modern reflection of Chinese food culture in Liverpool. And our story continues to unfold as we take our place at the heart of Chinatown’s future.

The Future of Chamber Thirty Six: A Neighbourhood Restaurant & Bar
Chamber Thirty Six is proud to stand at the entrance to Liverpool’s Chinatown, a cultural landmark with a rich past and an exciting future. We’ve been part of this community since 2016. Over nearly a decade, we’ve witnessed the changes around us and contributed to the city’s vibrant food scene. Today, we’re deeply involved in the regeneration of Liverpool’s Chinatown. We believe in its potential as a thriving destination for food, culture, and connection. While we are not physically located beneath the Chinatown arches, we overlook them every day. Our presence here is more than geographical. It is cultural, emotional, and forward-facing. Through our food, our service, and our space, we honour the traditions of Chinese hospitality and aim to be part of a new chapter for the area - one that celebrates heritage while embracing growth.
